wellbeing in pregnancy and childbirth

Research from Imperial College London shows that anxiety and stress during pregnancy can effect a baby’s development and lead to long term problems after birth.
(Effects of antenatal stress and anxiety The British Journal of Psychiatry (2002) 180: 389-391)

The Wellbeing in Pregnancy and Childbirth course is designed to help you to deal effectively with any antenatal anxiety and stress and will teach you relaxation and pain relief techniques for use during the birth of your baby.

“a new baby is like the beginning of
all things wonderful … a dream of possibilities”
    Edaj Le Shan

Research has shown that for women using hypnosis during childbirth there is a reduction in length of labour; lower reported pain; reduction in medical intervention; and a reduced need for pain relief medication

The 'Wellbeing in Pregnancy and Childbirth' course is a series of 4 sessions typically starting at the beginning of the second trimester and leading through to just before the birth of your baby.

It’s enjoyable and informative and will help prepare you (and your partner) psychologically and physically for having the best possible experience of childbirth. Your partner will learn techniques to help you to stay calm and relaxed during labour. For details of costs and bookings please go to the fees / appointments page
